Sedatives can do that. I nearly lost a cat once to that same problem. They sedated her (mildly) for medical treatment, and evidently miscalculated the dosage. I know it happens with small dog breeds as well. I'm so sorry.

I had a cat for several years who just dropped dead one saturday. I have no idea what happened; she was not sick and did not have any chronic diseases. We thought maybe it was the cat food that was contaminated from China. Since then we do not use any pet food product made outside the USA. So sorry for you, you tried to do the right thing.

That is so sad. Mother Nature has a way of telling other critters when one is sick, maybe this has nothing to do with the medication your son's vet gave him. The kitty knew she was loved by you and your family and her new set of humans. Very, very sad.

a vet once told us the med they were givig our husky to for a dental cleaning was much safer then what was used in the past. For 3 days he was loopy staring at walls and crying walking up to strangers and crying and so on- don't believe all is well and known whe a med is given

Finally one of those people got back to my son, only to tell he didn't have the time to talk. I'm sooooooooooo mad, now we still know nothing! He will call this evening so another day of waiting and hoping she's still with us!
If they treat people this way I don't want to know how they treat animals........oh well I should know I guess :( :(
