    Sharing my unusual Flowers

These just bloomed in my garden. I believe Iris blooms with two colors are unusual and I wanted to share them with you. They are yellow and burgundy. Enjoy.

They are beautiful. I would love to have flowers but with cows and deer it just isn't meant to be. Thanks for sharing.

I love Iris. Those are so stunning. My iris won't boom for at least a month. We haven't even had our lilacs blossom yet! It was such a cold winter and spring. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing. For us Minnesotans, even your grass and the green of your background is most wonderful too. It's been a looooooooooooooooooong white winter!

I believe that those colored iris are pretty close to the original iris colors before they started hybridizing everything. I am 82 and those iris were all down the bank behind our first house in lower MI.

I believe they are hybrids. I have an Iberian Irs's they are White tops with purple bottoms and some are streaked with the purples. My Husband got them for Mother's Day 4 -5 years ago. I have lots of buds, will be opening soon.
Yours are beautiful, I love those colors.

I "heard" that scattering cut hair around the flowers will keep deer and some others away since they get the smell of humans. Some barbers and hair salons may give you some to try.

Twinkie: Would you like to sell some of those bulbs. Maybe they cross pollinated. I used to have a big bed of them at our previous home. Got a lot of rye weeds in them and was going to try Preemie, but we moved.

Just beautiful and they could be used for ideas of colors to make a quilt. Everything comes back to quilting in my world :-)
