I just ordered the smaller kindle this month, and hope to get it by Sept. 10th. It took me a long time to decide if I really wanted this, but looking around my house you will see lots of bookcases full of books. I have a really hard time getting rid of books (kind of a 'book stash'). Besides, if it was good enough for the Star Trek crew, it's good enough for me. (Isn't it interesting how technology seems to follow the sci fi shows?)

I began reading ebooks on a Pocket PC a REALLY long time ago! So few books that I wanted made it across the ocean, and until the new "geographic restrictions" started I could buy any book I liked! Heaven!!!

Since my last PPC died I've been reading on my iPod touch. I looked at Kindle, but as I already carry too much electronic stuff when I travel I really wanted another multi-function device.

I just got the Nook this weekend, and I love it! You can share your books with others with it. My dd has the kindle and wishes she had the Nook. She says that the wifi feature is what she most misses with her Kindle. I didn't get the one with 3G just wifi, have wireless internet at home so it isn't a problem. The other good thing is no waiting for them, just go to best buy and buy it.

Where did you get your Kindle, on line or did you purchase it at a book store?

I went back and forth between the Kindle and the Nook. Finally decided on the Nook. (Only because I am so impatient and didn't want to wait for something to ship). Bought it at Barnes and Noble, then Best Buy started selling them. Love it. I check for free downloads each week. (and it fits in my purse and no one knows what I am reading). LOL
