My church has been encouraging its members for many years to have 72 hour emergency kits and at least a year of food stored. Emergency happens big and small that a kit with basic supplies that you can take with you, use, etc with will give you peace of mind if never used or relief if needed. The year of food in our family is always top in our mind with looking for sales, rotating the food etc.

I am not trying to preach my religion to you but the link below is the resource our church provides as a help in what we call provident living. http://providentliving.org/. This may give you ideas and something to think about.

The govenment also as a site with resources and advice.

I have been canning also. Potatoes didn't taste that good. How do you do it? Carrots are good. Looking forward to summer crop.

I am thinking I might can some meat in case electric goes out.

Prices are high on everything right now. Just does not seem like a good time to stock up on anything. Supply and demand. If people would stop stocking up the supply will get higher and the prices will come down.

Let the fabric sit on the shelves in the stores until the prices come down to a reasonable price! Just buy what you absolutely need and buy it ON SALE!

Don't know about Myan calendar. Bible tells me know one knows when.

World will end. Cats and dogs living together; mass hysteria. The usual. (please read as tongue-in-cheek font)
