    Default Taping knitting needles together

I want to tape my pairs of knitting needles together - but I do not want the tape to leave a lot of residue (preferably no residue) when I finally take it off - probably years from now -

Do any of you have suggestions for a tape that will accomplish this?

Wrap paper around them very tightly and wrap a rubber band around the paper. I have the points opposite each other.

I don't know about taping the needles together. That's new to me and a good idea in my opinion. I'd be concerned too about the residue. A friend of mine told me of using a vase and putting some decorative crystals/stones and storing the needles (points down). It would look like a floral arrangement of sorts if you have various colors/sizes. I made a little pouch for mine. I also made a pouch for my various crochet hooks. Maybe wrapping some batting around the middle of the needles then taping it.
Will be curious to see any other ideas you receive.

Painters Tape is what you want to use ..... holds well, and leaves no stick!!!
Plus you can write any extra notes on the tape that you want to leave with items.

Use it all the time on my fabric, to note the measurements.
Also, ends of my fabric storage totes.

I'm thinking maybe silicone stretch & seal tape like https://www.homedepot.com/p/Nashua-T...3526/204002509 It comes in different colors. Or I wonder if the white plumbers tape like https://www.homedepot.com/p/1-2-in-x...1273/202206819 would be good for the purpose you want.

I am not sure I would put any type of tape on any needles. I have taken my older needles that are not in use and wrapped a piece of plastic bag around them and used plain scotch tape to keep some of them together - others are "tied" tightly together with yarn

Excellent ideas for painter's tape or tying with yarn. If you find you do have goo left after time, there is a product called Goo Gone that works wonders for getting rid of old tape/glue on almost all surfaces.

I have knitting needles together with elastic bands for years. No harm at all.

Some of the rubber bands get old and brittle and then break. When I say I wanted this for " years" - I do mean years. These will probably be sold at the "what was mom thinking when she acquired all this?" sale.

I have seen old rubber bands that leave a residue, too. The 'tapes' I suggested are silicone or teflon, so do not have sticky residue, but have stretch so that kind of mold around and then only sticks to itself.
