I haven't shopped at Target in months. My bank keeps a close tabs on our accounts.
Somebody got a hold of my husband's card and used it in New Mexico at a Dollar store.
All I could say was at least they were frugal about it....LOL

And why did we stop using checks? Perhaps time to go back to them. My AMEX told us to monitor acct and they are monitoring accts as well. If there is activity then time for a new one.

Yes, I went to Target, 4 times. Luckily, I can keep an eye on my accounts. Target will have to do something awesome to get me back in the store.

I kind of think this might hurt them and their reputation.

A Dollar store?? Kind of funny, but I'm sure you all weren't laughing at the time.

They offered a 10% discount to every in store customer Saturday & Sunday to make up for the security breach. . .

I think it is wrong to say you will never shop there again. It happened to TJ Maxx and Marshall a few years back. I do not think people stopped shopping there. Only reason it happened to Target and not Walmart is because Target shoppers have the reputation of having more money available. It will happen again----just a toss up which store.

Our credit union is checking every account for Target transactions and is issueing new cards to every customer who could be potentially affected! Talk about going above and beyond!
