Default Tax Refund!

Whew Hoo! I already filed our taxes and should have our refund next week! Now what to buy? A couple of years ago I got my new Janome! well not gonna spend on sewing stuff except for a little fabric.

I do need to purchase a new refridgerator and or a new bed. SO... I have a couple of questions I am hoping to get opinions on.

I "think" I would like a bottom freezer refridgerator but not sure. Can you tell what what you think is best?
top freezer, side by side, or bottom freezer.

Now for beds. My husband has had two back surgeries and now has about 18" of titanium rods and pins in his back. So I need something good. There are so many types, I don't even know where to start.
Wondering opinions on Sleep Number beds, Temper-pedic, posture-pedic, memory foam?//
I think we are considering sleep number but golly geeze they are pricey!

so any thoughts good or bad, please share! If it gets to complicated, I may forget it all and go for
LOTS of Fabric!!!!!!! lol

Love my fridge with the bottom freezer. I had a side by side and wanted more room in the fridge which I use the most. The bottom freezer is wonderful! It even has a separate second ice maker in the freezer which you can turn off or on.

We have a sleep number (Select Comfort) with the duel controls. It is wonderful. My DH like his side REALLY soft and I like my side much more firm. I also have a daybed in our all season/TV room and have a medium memory foam mattress. Both are really good but with the select comfort you can cutomize your side. The memory foam are nice , but they retain heat, so if you are like me and prone to night sweats( will they EVER stop????) you might not like it. Great in the winter though. LOL I sleep a lot in my TV room since I have to get up so many times what with the hot flashes and sweats and at least 1 of my dogs need to go out in the middle of the night. So I usually end up on the memory foam mattress. Like I said comfortable but can be a little too warm in the summer even with the AC on

P.S.When I was a child we had a fridge with a bottom freezer. My Mom HATED it. I have had 2 side by sides. The first one was not all that big. For instance you could not fit a frozen pizza in it. Luckily I have a deep freeze in my garage. When that one died we got a much larger one and that is much better. Before those I always had the top freezers. I guess my answer would be if you are only going to have the one freezer get the one with the most cubic space. The bottom ones do tend to become just a large jumbled basket of stuff. The side by sides are nice but if it your only freezer make sure you get one big enough

Love my bottom freezer. Having the ref at eye level makes it really easy. the frig part also has a Large pull out draw--it is very handy.

Just make sure that whatever you get, you get a Whirlpool. The traditional top freezer is the best bang for your buck. However, as you get older, it is harder to access the stuff on the bottom. We are switching to a bottom freezer fridge in the next year. Easier access to the vegetable bins and I only need to access the freezer once a day for dinner vs 15 times a day for everything else. The side by sides are GREAT if you only have 2 people. However, the freezer space is narrow making it difficult to store things like pizza or turkey for a larger family. If you are big on convenience food, you have to consider the size of your convenience food.

I just bought a new bed. I love the memory foam! For my old bed, I had bought a 3 inch foam and put it on top. Heaven. However, my mattress has finally bit the dust. I've talked to a number of people who have sleep number beds. Some like them, others didn't find them better than anything else over the long term.

In 1998 ( I know, advertisers think this should be thrown out) we bought an expensive double pillow top mattress. After trying many mattresses and many stores, I finally figured out that not all posture-pedic, etc. mattresses are the same. Mattress factories build for the individual stores. If you look for one specific mattress in many stores, that mattress will feel different. So, hubby needs to try all of them.
