Unfortunately, political calls and those seeking donations are also not affected by the do-not-call. We have just stopped answering calls unless we know the name. If it's important they will leave a message.

If you have ever done business with these people, they may call. But you can tell them to do not call again, you are on the list and they are not supposed to call you again. Plus, do not forget that you have to re register. But I don't remember how often. And, don't forget your cell.

It may not stop the calls but it does slow it down. You do need to recall the do not call list every so many years.

Actually, I don't think this is true. We were getting a rash of calls about a month ago, so I went to the DNC website and confirmed our number was on the list - and it said we don't have to re-register our number. However, this was our landline, I don't know if cell numbers are different.

We use our cellphones now more than the land line. Isn't there a time restriction as to when these annoying calls can be made? We've been getting calls at 9pm now.

If your number is listed they can find you...get an unlisted number. Thankfully I have not had any problems since I got rid of my land line and have only a cell phone and also on the do not call list.

you do not have to re-up at any time - the list was made permanent.
