Quote: I have a Kodak all in one printer I bought for the enlarging feature. It has always worked very well. Now all of a sudden I can't get the red to print out! All the other colors are fine but I need the red coloring for my patterns! Has plenty of ink so that shouldn't be the problem. I know what you mean about them wanting payment up front to see if they can even FIX the problem!! Not from me! Printers aren't as expensive per say then the ink to use with them!
Lois -- I have the Kodak 5300 and it runs out of ink in the color cartridge at the same rate as the black cartridge (and I seldom ever print in color). I usually click on properties, draft, advanced and enter black and white only.
........I bought a single black cartridge but always wind up needing to replace both colors.
Grrr ---- wonder why this is.........

Maybe the print head needs cleaning. I don't know if the HP has a maintenance program, the Canon does. You open the printer tab, click on preferences and then on the maintenance tab. Not sure about HP, haven't used one for many years, but it might have the same facilities as the Canon.

I bought a Kodak for my sewing room. It's the cheapest ink to buy for. I haven't found any printer I would buy again. I always buy different brands thinking this may be the one I can depend on.
