20 years ago we were house hunting and touring one that really was tugging my heart. Until we went in the bedroom and they had a trip around the world with 2" squares nailed to the wall, all saggy and stretched. To this day it makes my heaert hurt and no we didn't look any further at that house.

Seeing a quilt being miss used in any way is horrifying to me.

A beautiful quilt used as a furniture cover in the back of a pickup- someone moving; same people had a quilt covering their stack of firewood in the snow- I guess the wood needed comfort & warmth more then they did.

3rd quilt I made was given to a friends 10 yr. old daughter as a birthday gift. Walked into their home a month later and the quilt had been nailed over a large window to "keep the sunlight out". Didn't gift another quilt for 20 years!

I'm sure in 30+ years of loving and making quilts I've seen some heinous things, but I swear I've blocked them out of my mind for self-preservation; I can't remember anything like these!
