I agree, have your thyroid checked. That's one of the
signs of a low output. Also one nurse I know suggested
that I have mine checked, said I had some of the signs,
of which was losing the outer third of my eyebrows.
Kinda low energy. Gaining weight..that thyroid is a busy
little thingey and must be humored. Check him out with
your doctor.

My mother (passed in 2000) lost hair on top & thinning & bought several wigs when she went to visit my brother in CA. I'll go with cute hats or Do-rags when I go out, when I get to a point that my head is cold in Winter.

Wow. In reading some of the responses I began to realize that I have always had thin hair and a year or two ago I was found to have hypothyrodism and was placed on medication.. I have thicker hair now but didn't realize it until the correlation was made on this site. My doctor never mentioned that my hair would get thicker so I just thought it was because I color my hair. Definately get your thyroid checked.

I agree with others that it could be the thyroid. I've had the same problem, a thick head of hair that I had to get thinned out at the parlor at least every other month to thin hair where I have to do a female "comb-over" to cover the cowlick in the back. :|

Thanks for any response.

It is something I have just learned to live with...don't have another option. And yes I have taken all the meds/supplements and vitamins in the world. Got tired of that after a while.
