Tool girls offensive or not?

Thank you everyone for the comments.
I agree there is a lot worse in magazine ads and on television. I do like the pin ups gals they paint on the Bombers during the war.
I wouldn't mind if my husband had these posters up in his shop, heck I probably would buy them for him.
I find some of the advertising tactics a bit distasteful. I find the lyrics to some of these so called musicians today really distasteful. But hot pant clad women and halter tops have been a staple in advertising to the opposite sex.
Just like bare chested men selling leaf blowers to women.....LOL

Porn? No. To me, it is more a parody of the marketing days of old that used sexy women to sell products. I wouldn't think there's some marketing genius somewhere who still thinks that type of advertising is effective as it was originally meant. It looks more tongue in cheek to me.

The sells of this particular brand of power tool must be down so a poster is being marketed to the male population to make up for the loss of profit-a must have but not as pricey :)

Sexy women adorn cars at car shows, motorcycle shows. I have even seen them at RV and Boat shows.

Do I find it offensive, definitely not...I think sometimes we are all a little too PC these days. Do find it a bit sad and old hat though. There are so many clever and interesting ads now, some of them are almost "short films".

[quote=wraez]Clem55 ... I agree, I'm tired of watching Victoria Secret ads on TV ...
----------------------------------------------
I've finally discovered what Victoria's Secret is....
That nobody over the age of 25 can wear their stuff in comfort and without being embarrassed!!!
I used to be able to wear things like that, but a lot of me has headed south and needs more industrial strength lifters now.
