These poor people lost family friends, their homes, vehicles and some even jobs are gone. My goodness what do you then?Where do you go? The st.johns hospital was hit very hard. Lots of nurses, doctors, and emergency workers left the springfield area to help today.Good luck to them all. Mary

Nature's power is sometimes very frightening. I am very sad about Joplin. Disasters with no warning are particularly shocking. My thoughts are with the bereaved and those who have been traumatized.

How in the world do you move that many patients to safety in such a short amount of time? I sure hope that these violent storms end soon.
they were supposed to have 20 min. warning, in reality they had about 5.
many do not have basements and after seeing the pictures of destruction I wonder have much protection the basements really offered

Worse yet, they just now issued another tornado warning for this devastated town! How much more can they take?
Last night alot of help was sent from St. Louis and Kansas City.

Watching the news tonight from Fl. The destruction is just awful it seems the storms keep getting worse by the day. they said 114 people have died. Prayers to all and they must all still be in shock and to have storms still going on there. I can't figure where these people hide my heart goes out to them with hugs and prayers. May God look over these people and help them to cope with their losses. Sue

I understand that when the lightening started, they averaged something in the neighborhood of over 500 a minute!
With ruptured natural gas line...not good!

It's still on the cool side where I am, but I'll not complain. At least the weeds are doing very well with all the rain.
