You are going to LOVE it in Hawaii. My son, retired Navy, was stationed at Pearl Harbor for 7 years. My DL would move back in a minute! She also loved the 80 deg. weather and sunshine. There are alot of really good fabric shops and LQS for you to discover. The Aloha Flee Market at the stadium used to have a couple of booths selling hawaiian fabric yardage! Enjoy!

OHH you will have so much fun..... We were there for three years, and loved it. If you get claustrophobic being on an island, take a mac flight and take a trip to anywhere. Have fun....

Welcome to Oahu. We have lived here for a year now and are enjoying our time here. We didn't have to look for a house as one is provided by the church my husband is the pastor of.

Leonards is the best for malasadas! don't be shy about trying manapua & pork hash. yum! also, zippys for chilli/rice.
we spent 5 years on oahu in the 90s. as several people pointed out there is decent fabric at the flea market. talk to the vendors there. a couple actually had warehouse stores off site that are well worth the visit.
