-2 right now, the wind chill is -14, schools are closed or on 2 hr delays and I don't want to think about the gas bill. I keep the thermostat on 68 and wear sweaters (on the dogs too lol) I do think that storing flood waters is a great idea! now, the pipeline to get it to CA . . . but since CA grows more than 70% of our fruits and veggies it's a good suggestion. haha I would gladly swap you a basket of tomatoes and peppers for 20 degrees even!
Wish I could send you some of our 0 degree weather and while we don't currently have feet of snow I know they do around the great lakes, and i'm sure they wish they could share with you too.
I guess we all have our seasonal challenges. Yes high heat bills are part of it too, but what is your ac costing?

Here in Southern Oregon we are dry. Can almost see a replay this summer of last summer when the fires burning all around us caused such havoc with health and home. I don't know if it is global warming or not, but it is odd. We could sure use some rain or snow. Mt. Ashland is closed for skiing and Crater Lake has very little snow.

I live in far northern California, we are suffering the drought conditions too! Our water comes from a spring filled water tank, I am afraid we will have to haul water in a big tank that fits in the back of our pick-up again this year but sooner. No lawn, flowers or veggies again this year. I was thinking, we have an oil pipelines why not water pipelines set up on a grid like the power lines? Surely more useful than high speed rail and bridges to no where.

We're about 40 miles south of Santa Barbara. It was 84 yesterday. We desperately need some rain!!! I am spending my morning watering my garden and the roses and my lawn.

This past week here in South Louisiana we had snow and sleet. Roads closed for over 24 hours then a thaw. sat was hectic on the roads, schools had been closed for MLK day on Mon then on Fri for a bad weather day. NOW we are faced with it again tonight, rain, sleet , snow and closed roads . It is really a mess. Is there a place with NO problems ????? Show me the way. Hugs
