Holy Cannelloni!!!!

I just got an email and a call from the Director of the South Dakota Advocacy Program. They accepted my Letter of Interest and so now I am officially on the Board of Directors for the entire state! My appointment begins on October 1, 2010 and ends September 30, 2014.

I am not believing this day!!

Oh wow. I am not sure what more could happen today. *shaking head*

Whew.

Missy

PS: For those that do not know, I had lunch with the Director one day in August and after we talked for a couple hours she said that I would be perfect for the board and wanted to know if I was interested in submitting a Letter of Interest. I submitted that letter a few days later and voila! Here we are!

:):):):):):):):)

My great grandmother was a firm believer in this. She was trim her whole life and attributed her slimness to apple cider vinegar.

Drumroll please.......

I have lost a grand total since the end of April.....

FIFTY POUNDS!!! That is right. I did say FIFTY. Holy 100-calorie packs of guacamole!!! I could barely believe my eyes.

I am just so happy and all I have to do now is have my last psychologist appointment this week and to see the internist one last time next week. Then they send all the stuff in my file to the surgeon and in a couple weeks they should schedule my surgery!

I am soo excited!!!

Anyway. That is my good news.

Oh. Wait. How in the world can I tell you guys my good news and leave Mike out of it? What WAS I thinking??

Mike is doing great and we are going to have lunch tomorrow and then go grocery shopping. Not really romantic but anytime I am with him I am a happy girl. *big grin*

So, there. I am done now. Go back to your regularly scheduled program.
Wow! That is wonderful Congrats Missy.

Just in from the Hungry Girl!

Calorie Counts Coming Soon... EVERYWHERE!

You've noticed them popping up on restaurant menus and fast-food menu boards... Now calorie counts are coming to movie theaters, airplanes, and convenience stores! Nutritional postings are invading the places we buy food, and we're SO excited. As part of the health-care overhaul that went through earlier this year, the FDA recently announced guidelines on disclosing calorie information that go beyond standard restaurant chains to include many other food sellers with 20 or more locations. WHOA! And there doesn't even have to be a human serving you the food -- vending machine distributors qualify too. What's next? Some schools are starting to display calorie info in their cafeterias to help kids become more aware of their intake. Knowledge is power, people!
