I loved to smell the aroma of my mother's liver and onions cooking as a child. It smelled so good I tried it twice...but no go! Can't stand the taste or texture.

I also didn't eat anything green. Now I love greens, green beans, cabbage, broccoli & asparagus.

Gefilte fish (Jewish dish), chopped liver, any organ meat and borscht (beet soup). Still will not eat any of these foods. Yuck!

Liver. It turned out like shoe leather when my mother made it. Now I'll fix liver and onions occasionally and like it.

I absolutely hate pears, both the flavor and the texture, even the yucky color. My mother always made Jello with canned mixed fruit, and I always picked out the pieces of pears. Lima beans take second place, bleeeeech!

We were really poor and mostly ate potatoes and beans so I didn't have the luxury of hating foods. Now as an adult and living in an area where there is every kind of food you can think of; I'm in heaven. This past weekend I went to NC and ate Asian, Indian and Thi and wish I could go back just to eat more food. Especially the Thi food. The red curry duck is still making my taste buds dance and wanting more. This was one of those times where I wish I could have disconnected my full stomach and pleased my taste buds just by continuing to eat all night. There aren't too many foods that I don't care for and very few things that I won't try. Pretty good for a poor country girl, turned city.

Rutabagas, parsnips, turnips, milk after we quit getting it from the farm (because of the government) and believe it or not - pizza. I still don't like any of them except for pizza - love it now.

Liver and Onions. Smelt (a fish from Lake Superior). I learned that I should eat these meats off my plate first and to breathe through my mouth while eating so that I couldn't taste them. Then, I would finish up my meal with the potatoes, vegetables, and milk and start breathing through my nose again! Horrid. I have never eaten this since leaving home and my children have never even seen them.
