I recently reconnected with an old friend. It made me happy to receive an email from her today!

I am part of the foundation at work and we split into groups and visit the agencies we sponsor. Today we went to a transitional housing for women or women with children escaping an environment of drug/alcohol abuse or violence. I am happy that there are good souls out there who try to help people and I am soooo happy that I have such a stable, good life. There were 6 women living in these tiny cordoned off areas of the house - it was organized chaos....

Hearing a friend is getting better is always good news!

I had a nice, calm day at work. Went to the post office for a squishy (surprise from DH - waiting for 2-14). Called my mom just to say hi. DH made dinner and now we are just sitting on the couch with Katie-cat. Life is good.

What a great topic. I have to say that I am very blessed and have good days almost without exception.

Got my hair cut today and had a nice visit with my hair stylist. She has a new baby grandaughter, Gia, so we were talking about what fun she will have sewing clothes for her.
I have many sewing patterns that I promised to give to her and I just might have some fabric for her too.

Planning on beef stroganoff for tonights dinner so I think it will be a good night too.

I'm a firm believer in keeping a gratitude journal...just keep a cheap notebook by the bed. Every night, write down things from that day that are blessings in your life...you will start out having to think about it, but soon, you start looking for blessings and end up writing long lists! Sometimes, I finish my list, but have to turn the light back on and add to it! Guess What! You nice folks make the list every night!

I got to enjoy seeing my two little ones have a blast! We went to my DD's Family Fun Night at her preschool and they danced and ran around and had so much fun, it was a joy to see and take part in.

The next thing didn't make me happy, but it made me realize how blessed I am. I work in the court system advocating for kids and listenign to some of my families make me realize that even my worst day is so much better than some of their better days. One little girl has lived in 6 different homes, including a shelter, in the last 6 months.

Home with a miserable cold today - don't want to share it with the office.
I finished a baby quilt top and the bright colors helped cheer me up.
I will definately wash this one before it goes to the happy mom and dad.

Today the sun was out for the first time in awhile!! That, alone, made my day!! Baked some chocolate chip cookies, YUM! And today was my day off! But, then, any day above ground is a good day to me!
