HOT SPOT! Once a dog begins to scratch they will often develop a hotspot. My daughter's dog seems to do this after he gets his summer clipping. Has to wear a cone until it "cools down." May need an allergy shot, but the cone is the only thing that seems to really work. HE HATES IT!! Always running into things. Poor ConeHead.

I would take her to the vet, if she has been spayed it may be a lack of harmones. This happened to my pet, then again it could be too much dog bathing, or allergys of some kind.

I agree that it's most likely allergies. Try bathing her in an oatmeal shampoo made for pets. It does wonders.

Food allergies. I had a dog that developed food allergies and had to go on a potatoe rice diet. See your vet.

Mine was itching also. Food allergies again. I took him off all canned food. He is older and not on kibble. He is now eating Pet Fresh, refrigerated and in a roll. He likes it, which was another problem picky picky picky!. I also cannot give him beef., He vomits. So chicken and turkey it is. Halo is a wonderful food but I would have had to take out a loan to feed it to him. He loved the stew with fish.
The only "junk" food he gets is a little bit of Little Cesar puppy to take his pills. He doesn't like the pill pockets and spits out everything else except liverwurst which we save for the times he is being extra picky.

I switched our dog to Blue brand dog food and results are very noticeable. It's grain free and holistic. Her shedding has lessened and her poop is over half what it use to be. No filler in the food. It's pricey but the vet says will save me many a vet bill for health problems later.

I once had a boxer that was allergic to all corn products and that seemed to be in every dog food. Try boiling chicken, debone it and mix it with cooked rice.

One of my fur babies is allergic to grains. Always itching, bare skin. Vet changed him to grain free dog food and he's awesome now. No more itching and a full silky coat.

We give ours baby benadril. The vets recommend it and sell it at their place at ALOT more.!

my head itched from dry skin. on Dr Oz show he said use shampoo with tea tree oil it work for me Nature's gate tea tree calming shampoo and conditioner. I got me 1st bottle at wal mart then thay quit caring it. I found it at a health food store
