I go to Sally n get swarzcopf igora 12.1 (natural light blonde) and 12% vol peroxide, this was the colour hairdresser used, and its much cheaper doing it myself, I use a highlighting comb so it doesn't go on like block colour. I have used Sally shop when in Florida so know you have them in USA.

I used to use Preferece by Loreal until my daughter told me about a new product, off hand I cannot remember the name but it starts with an A and is in a black box. Several years ago I gave up paying $60 to have my hair colored and decided to do it myself. Spent the $60 on fabric.................LOL

I don't use it anymore either. My husband is a chemical engineer and convinced me to stop using it. Best thing I could have ever done. I'm free! I do remember that the older you get the lighter you should go. Use soft shades.

I like Nutrisse (it turned my hair purple the time I used a color called "Eggplant" or "Black Cherry" - can't remember exactly, but never have had another incident with using browns). I tried the new Olia and that is now my favorite. I have tried almost all of them on the market since I have been coloring my hair for about 40 years. Some color the gray but leave my hair stiff and dull. I have used the 10 minute ones and they do color the gray but I don't like the feel of my hair afterwards. I'm going to stick to Nutrisse and Olia from now on.

I use L'Oreal Excellence, because of the applicator. It is a multiple tip applicator, like a comb. Combs thru better than the single tip applicators. I use 6R because I always wanted to be a redhead. People think that it is my natural color (my natural color is a dark ash brown). My grey hair is a nasty mousy grey color, not a pretty silvery white. So until it gets to that pretty shade, color me red.

It has been over 30 years since I had a perm. The last one I had I came out looking like little Orphan Annie! In the last 2-3 years I have had it highlighted which I do like but it has been over 9 months since I have done that also. I use Miracle II soap for shampoo and Coconut Oil for conditioner occasionally and use it for my hair dressing. Used to use Suave but they no longer make that. People always wonder how I get my hair a bit shinny. So that is just the coconut oil. I use coconut oil for many, many things. It is a great product.

Its funny, I'd been dying my hair since I was 12 years old as my mother was a hairdresser so I'd get her leftovers. As I grew older I went from a mousy brown to a shade of auburn as my father and sister were both red heads and my mother was an auburn. I felt left out in the red department. Finally when I was getting ready to retired, I decided I needed to find areas where I could cut down as my income would be cut basically in half. Decided dying my hair would be one of the areas I'd cut off. I also noticed I'd added some grey hairs but it was coming in streaked so I thought okay, frosted. Worked for me but then I thought wait a minute, now I have greys, mousy brown and auburn so how to make it look good while it was growing out. Went to my hairdressers to see about frosting all of it and she suggested low lighting it instead. Sounded good and that's what I did. I love my grey streaks still as I worked hard for them I keep telling myself. Still collecting more grey hair as I age but I don't mind it as some folks do. I keep telling myself I worked hard for those grey hairs and I'm proud to show them off.........:-D
