I've lived all my life in western NY and... I think it's pretty nice here. We have seasons, usually get enough rain (I like a green landscape)... the only thing I would change is that I'd like to NOT be so close to an expressway. I would rather not hear the traffic noise, preferring nature sounds instead.

Where we live wasn't my choice. We moved here for DH's job. It's very rural and culturally very different from where we grew up and lived. People are very friendly, but mostly do things with their families, which can at times be exclusive. After 11 years, we are beginning to become more used to living here. One of our sons and his wife are 2 hours away. She was the bonus for our moving here. They met in high school and she's much loved by all of us. So you take the good with the bad. Would love more cultural events and more shopping.

Born in the cotton fields in No. LA, stayed for 18 yrs, joined the WAC, discovered I have gypsy blood. Have lived in VA, VT, NH, TX, CO,finally settled in NW AR. Love it, hope to never move again. I'm on 10 acres, in a little valley, totally isolated. Love it!!!
