I don't like the look of a tucked in shirt with casual pants on a male or female. Unless the person is stick thin it isn't flattering at all. Would you tuck in a sweater? Looks the same.

I refuse to wear shirts that have suddenly decided to get short. But I do have several shirts that have a sheer similar colored band of fabric on the bottom. Usually about 4 inches wide. It looks good. It is not lace, as I am sooo NOT a lacey person! Does not look like a sloppy shirt hanging out underneath, either. While I do not know the name of the material, if you go to Joann's I am sure you can find the kind of fabric you are thinking of.
When my shirts get too short, I give them to GoodWill, but it makes much more $$$ sense to add a cute lengthen-er on the bottom and keep using a shirt you love!

Okay, I finally saw one of these at an event I went to last weekend. It was sort of pinkish sweater with pink lace. I guess it looked okay. Not a fan.

On loose pants worn too low - please God, make that the biggest problem we have in the world. That's not ever going to happen, though. Low riding pants don't actually hurt anyone, so a chuckle is the right response.
