God told me to! I heard it in my head and like someone was talking out loud to me in the room! "You are going to marry this man!" My first thought was, "Which one?" LOL I really did know which one. I had known him for one week. Four years and a few months later and we were married. It will be 21 years in May.

Because he is not boring. (quite unlike the first ex) He is so wonderfully considerate (like his dad). He's my eternal best friend.

I cannot imagine losing a child.

My heart goes out to you. I wish you peace and precious memories.

so sorry for your loss. Having lost my son 2 years ago, I have known grief - and my heart aches for you and your great loss. Yes, life goes on - but it's never the same. I wish you well.

To be honest? I have no idea why we married!! I'm of the belief that the piece of paper doesn't make the relationship, and after being married twice before, I let him know on no uncertain terms that I would NEVER answer to another man...
He listened patiently and then said, "Ok". I was happy with that! :) He was a trucker, and I managed a mini-casino in Montana...perfect!! He'd be gone most of the time, but in town often enough to be a "companion".
We were married six months later. Not only that, but he stopped trucking for a time and we've worked together ever since...we're together pretty much 24/7...and yes. He's my best friend...he makes me laugh...and he loves me. Almost as much as I love him! ;)

Because he knew what all the appliances in the kitchen were used for..... Like I told him, "I quit" (cooking, that is). And he has kept up his end of the bargain. Married 16 years in May, been together 22 this month....

I had a job, an appartment, loads of hippie friends and was never going to get married. I walked into a little mom and pop restraunt down the street from where I lived he was the only person eating - the place wasn't big as a minute - maybe 8-10 tables - so I walked around pretending to try to find a place to sit - thought he was NEVER going to get the hint when he finally offered to let me sit with him. We dated four months, he was going back to school and several of the people I wanted to be in our wedding were unavailable so I got mad and said we'd get married before he went to school - we had 2 weeks to plan our wedding - a very hippie wedding on the lawn beside of the church building I attended - it was one of the most beautiful wedding ever - perfect all the way around - that was 39 years ago this coming June - he is still my best friend, he makes me laugh and feel secure when nothing else does - and he spoils me rotten - I can't imagine life without him. God truly blessed me the day I picked him up in that place. :)
