Mother had one of those sprinklers and at about age 4 or 5 I was given the job of sprinkling the laundry and rolling it up and into the fridge it went.

If you didn't get around to ironing right way you put the clothes in the refrigerator so they didn't sour.
I remember bags of rolled up laundry in the fridge. :-D
I put mine in the freezer never worried about souring or mold. Ironed as needed Sometimes kept in freezer for weeks.

Oh my - Mom's old ironing sprinkling bottle stoppers! How funny - you made me smile big time this evening! Bet a lot of people under 50 would not know that we had to sprinkle our clean clothes and then roll them tightly in a clean dish towel until we ironed them the next day.

Brings back memories. I can remember seeing my Mother and Grandmother using them! And, yes, I can remember them sprinkling the clothes and putting them in the fridge to stay damp.

Anyone remember the wooden curtain stretcher with all of the little nails all around. What the heck were those curtains made out of - netting? I think they were usually priscilla curtains, and they couldn't be ironed. Hope I'm not the only one who remembers them!!!!!!!
I remember that thing. Got my fingers poked a lot on those tiny
nails. Hated sheer curtains for the longest time. Sure beat
    ironing them tho.

I remember the curtain stretchers Pal, my DMIL used hers to put her starched lace curtains on to dry. That thing was old, even in 1965 !
