I remember the sprinklers. Whenever mom got them out our parakeet got excited. While mom sprinkled the clothes he would fly through the water.

Seeing these brings back memories. One time when I was home, Mom was off to work and I asked her if there was anything I could do for her while I was home. She said yes, could you do the ironing. "Okay' I said, and off she went. I looked that house high and low, and could not find one piece of ironing. She came home from work and asked if I "had done the ironing?" "Nope, I couldn't even find any ironing," I replied. she looked at me kind of funny and then broke out laughing> "Did you look in the freezer?" "The freezer??? You guessed it, she used one of those sprinklers to dampen her clothes and then she put the clothes in the freezer and when she needed something ironed, she took it out, thawed it a little and then ironed it.
Hey now days, who irons clothes? I only iron hubbies shirts and I protest with every shirt. Jan

We used to put them in the top of a pop bottle and dampen clothes prior to ironing. I haven't seen one of those in years but would love to have another one to use. They work so much better than a spay bottle!!

I still have mine that I used in a Nehi bottle to sprinkle clothes, roll them up in a basket and iron. I still like to iron on cold days!

They are sprinklers. I used to use them to sprinkle my Dads shirts and other clothes, then I would roll them up and put them in the fridge. It made them easier to iron. Boy did I just date myself. This is how I was taught to iron from my Nana. Sometimes she would mix some starch in her's. My Dad did not like starch so I never used it....LOL

If you didn't get around to ironing right way you put the clothes in the refrigerator so they didn't sour.
Ours went into the freezer

I used them when I was a kid and even older. Forget grandma.
