Does anyone have any experience with ordering a design from Urban Threads? I ordered a design from them earlier in the week, I think on Tuesday. For some reason I am unable to use the design. I have a Baby Lock machine and ordered a PES format. The design size is 9.?? x 5.??. I tried to use a hoop that is 11 x 7. My machine is telling me that I cannot use this hoop. I sent an email to their CS on Wed. still have not heard back from them. Does anyone else have any experience with them?

I have to agree with Krystyna, keep saving ad get a more recent machine. 500$ is a huge chunk for an old model and it would take the poster towards a more flexible, modern machine, even if a pre-owned one. These machines are computerized. While my 7 year old Janome 9700 is running like a top, I at least know the history of use since I am the original owner. Though, when the time comes to upgrade mine, maybe I could get more than 500$ for it.

Janome 10000 and 11000

Hi Karen,
I have a Janome 10000 too and the 11000 and I feel very fortunate to have both. While I embroider on one I piece on the other, getting exercise when changing colours for the embroidery. A win win situation I'd say! I think you will love your machine, and it has a high standard of stitch quality. I started with the MC70000 and have traded in up to the present day. They have been very reliable throughout. The only criticism/problem I have experienced is with the screw on the hoops. I have worn them out and had to replace them. The threads got worn and would not grip hard enough.
I wish you luck and look forward to seeing your projects.

Is your machine telling you you cannot use the hoop specifically? My first guess would be that the design was created in a later version of software and you might have to reformat it to an earlier version. For instance, a machine can read an older version of design than what was the version at the time it was manufactured...but cannot read a newer version. To explain further, my 2003 Brother ULT's will read all versions thru 5.06---but most .pes designs are now being created with version 6 or higher. So I have to reformat most of my designs. Could this possibly be the problem?

Oh, I should say...unless you are transferring designs to a PED Basic card....in which case it should read!

Yes, it is telling me I cannot use this hoop. The design is reading 8.60 x 4.63. The hoop size is 10.25 x 6.25. My machine is a Baby Lock Ellageo Plus. I think this may be an older design. I have never had to reformat a design as of yet. I have only had my machine a few months, and still fairly new to embroidery. Can you possibly tell me how to do this? Thanks for your help.

I went to the brother dealer yesterday and saw their PE780 which is the dealer version of the PE770. i have pretty much decided that is the way i should go. I did like it except their price was $999 on sale. I'll just have to push down this strong urge that I gotta buy a machine NOW... and save a few more $$$ and keep watching for the right sale.

Check ebay, you might get a machine a few hundred dollars cheaper.

I have a brand new machine but its worth a try! How do you reformat?

On overstock.com, the Brother PE 770 is $597. Sign up for their emails, and often there will be 7% or 10% discounts which really makes this more affordable. Even now, there is a coupon for $20 off a $150 purchase. Every little bit helps.
