Aww thank you for saying this. You humble me. I try to do what I can to help everyone, by sharing tips and hints that I found work for me, this is by no means a standard for everyone, and many people have found their own tips and tricks that they found works best for them. I am always willing to try something a different way to see if it works better for me. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. All one can really do is try. Just remember to have FUN with the embroidery machine, and walk away when it frustrates you (this is why I go for LONG periods of not sewing).

Great advice Louise. I've encountered on several projects that if something isn't working, just walk away. When I come back to it its as simple as the needle or the thread, duh me :rolleyes:. Today I am home from work due to my legs not behaving so I'm going into my sewing room and embroidering some hand towels for a friend of mine who has requested these about 3 yrs ago! So I'm home alone with no distraction and am able to do it. I will post pics when they're done. She likes red white and blue so it will be the theme. I also am going to do some earrings from the Sonia showalter website. Let's see how that goes.

Yes...thats my way of doing things as well......walking for long periods when things goes wrong....waiting for the " good wind " to be able to sail again.....have fun all

I'm looking to buy a digitizing program to use with my Brother PE770. I would love to get the PE Design Next but it's out of my price range. Can anyone suggest a good starter digitizing software that doesn't cost an arm and a leg that I can check out. I've looked at so many I'm royally confused. I know some of you use Embrillance. What is your experience with it? Is it easy to use? TIA for your help.

DJ, I am just catching up on the postings... When I clean mine, I take the throat plate off, take out the bobbin mechanism, take a Q-Tip and kinda pick up majority of the lint. My son bought me a small air compressor last summer and when I really want to clean it, I use it to blow all open holes out, down under the bobbin case, etc. Also, all around the threader, etc. I keep canned air in my sewing rm, and blow out machines with that ever so often. When finished w/that, I put a drop of oil (Zoom Spout) in the hole in the bobbin hole (where you set your bobbin).
Using a good thread makes a big difference too. I've used all brands, can't really say there's any one brand that's really bad. Some will produce more 'dust' than others. You'll know after you sew something and see a lot of dust. That just means you need to blow the machine out more often..lol Hope this helped you.. Have fun with it - they're neat machines. Jean |
