As already suggested, try rearranging your blocks several differen ways. I think you'll be able to find an arrangement that pleases you.

If you do decide to sash the blocks, I'd go with a narrow (1") dark sashing.

I love the fabrics and colors. A solid inner border and or sashing might make it more appealing to you. In any event, gift it to your daughter and move on to the next one. I am not in love with every quilt I make when it is completed. Sometimes what I envision when I start is not my end result.

Have you tried laying them out on point? I think that would give them a totally different look. You maybe could use the extra that you have for the setting triangles. The blocks are really very pretty!

I think it's perfect the way it is. If this quilt is for your daughter, and she likes it, why not put it together, put a border or two on it, quilt it and give it her.
    Guaranteed she'll love other forever!

I think it is very pretty. If the yellow is bothering you, do the quilting in a blue thread. This will break the yellow up. It will also blend the blue parts in. I like the contrast and would probably add a narrow yellow framing border and then a blue border for balance. Or use one of those as a framing border and finish with a black border. Use the 'extra' fabric to make up your backing.

I think the colors and fabrics are great, and if that's what you daughter wants, why not? I once made a quilt for my then 10 year old son, a bright blue and black triple Irish chain, and he wanted a leopard print for the backing. I did manage to find a small leopard print at a discount chain, they had 6 yds. at $1/yd. just the exact amount I needed, the quilt was finished and he loved that quilt, even after he grew up and left home, the quilt went with him, and when my boomerang kids came back, the quilt came back with him. For those of you with younger children, Boomerang Kids, my term, means older kids who go off to school, move out on their own, etc., but invariably they come home again - once both my kids came back at the same time, the first one back got their pick of rooms in the basement. Now both are married, my son lives 3 miles away with our DGD Zoe and his wife; and my daughter lives in Sydney, Australia with her DH.
