My 301 table cost me $8.00 ; with the cut out. The fella who sold it was using it at flea markets. He thought it was a little rough, but sure it was worth the money.

At a high school fundraising sale I found a featherweight card table, also missing the insert. It was priced @ $.50, due to the hole in the table; I was generous and gave them $5.00. I also ran to the car and only did the happy dance when I got far away.

I recently got a 301 too. (Great little workhorses, will sew through thick layers, even leather because of their all-steel cogs. But still the beautiful straight stitches just like the featherweights.)
I sure wish I could find a table for it. Lucky you!

Thanks for this post. I never heard of a 301 machine so I googled it and don't feel so in the dark now. Here's a nice link I found. The Joy of 301's http://pages.suddenlink.net/joyof301s/index.htm

I fully related with the mad dash to the car feeling like you made the steal of the century. I bought my Featherweight card table in an auction case lot for $10. which when averaged out among all the items - I paid .50 I ran to the car too!
