Update:
I was stood up yesterday. The officer that put me in contact ith the women setting up the meeting is trying to find answers and solutions to whatever the problem is. I am trying to stay upbeat and positive because I really want this to happen. The situation here at this time may be a deterrent too. Stuff outside the gate changes every hour so I hope the women are being safe and cautious above all. They really are defenseless in their own country. I'm still keeping the faith.

I am praying for you and the Afgani women's safety and well-being as you minister to each other through needlework and your hands, hearts, and smiles. May the lord bless you and keep you, may he His countenance shine upon you and give you peace... Num. 6:24

So sorry. I really hope the problem, whatever it may be, can be resolved, but don't give up, it may all work out in the end. You have created such a great opportunity to connect the two cultures and you are to be commended for your efforts.
I don't know all that much about their society except that the women and girls live under terribly repressed conditions. You certainly don't want them to suffer any repercussions as a result of this project, but I am sure that you will be advised as to what can and should be done next. Hopefully, the women will realize that you have reached out to them in friendship which in itself is a good thing. Hang in there and pray for the best. We're all praying with you (and waiting for your next update).

I am going to try to get something together this weekend. I'm frustrated but I have people that are helping me with the language barrier and customs here. I am learning patience becasue things are so wishy-washy and everything is done in the Afghans time not mine. I am working with women that have an average of 5.9 children with their first at child at 12-14 years old and...I'm inviting them to take some time out of their day to quilt with me. No I don't want anything bad to happen to them because they want to quilt but if that is the case then I really wish someone would tell me becasue I feel I am spinning my wheels here but oh well....I will try again to reach out this weekend.
