Several years ago I quilted two all neutral quilts who had combined the Ohio Star block and a simple nine patch block. With the quilting they both were beautiful! The backs, she used a white muslin one one and a natural muslin on the other, looked like wholecloth quilts.

When I've attempted all white or off white quilts, the seam allowances show through to the front of the block. Is there any way to prevent this? It almost looks like 1/4 inch stripes on all the seams. TIA

I eventually settled on a different theme, but I had been considering a crazy quilt all in whites/off whites and particularly incorporating laces and trims and textured fabrics but not focusing on embroidery stitches.
My test blocks worked just fine, I used the quick construction technique from Karla Alexander, the "Stack the Deck" concept.

They have template kits now you can buy, Karla was one of the founders of the technique and the book teaches you to do it without templates and gives a lot of good directions on how to get enough fabrics to mix well, that's the Stacking the Deck part.

Also in mixed color quilts if I have a dark fabric I try to press to the dark side or if that will not work out I carefully trim the dark fabric so that it is not visible through the white.

After I cut the pieces, I went ahead and put embellishments like lace, eyelet, ribbons etc. on the pieces themselves and shuffled them into the decks. So I had some pretty tan solid but with a white lace over lay, stay stitched within the seam line on two sides and then treated it as right side up. All the rough edges were finished in seams. They were mixed in with the more textured sort of fabrics, the tone on tone, etc.
As far as the lines in the white, that is an issue. I press open and usually don't have too much of a problem, but sometimes I have to work with what I've got and I will say that not all whites are created equal. While I judge fabric on a piece by piece basis, there are reasons on why some white on whites can be less expensive than others. Sometimes using a foundation helps. Sometimes bright white batting makes a surprising difference.

I just watched a video tutorial from Donna Jordan on neutral colored quilts. I know it was an old video but just a thought that you may want to watch that tutorial and it may help you decide on a pattern. I will go look up the pattern and let you know. I think it was something called diamonds.
