I saw a video on not wearing a shoe when using a presser foot. The reason being is that it gives you a better feel of the speed that you can control with your foot. Also it was said to place a book (telephone book or some thickness that is comfortable to you) in front of the presser foot so your foot is elevated and you won't get a cramp in your leg as well as have better control.

In did that at my last workshop. It felt funny walking with only one shoe on. It was a real hot day and my right foot swelled from all the heat from the day and machine pedal. Never again will I go through that type of pain.

Oh, yes! My bra comes off after the coat and before the shoes! And, depending on the company, stays off!!

As far as shoes, I can pretty much sew with or without. But I do spend most of my time at home without.

Oh, Patti! How precious. Do you have it framed in your sewing room? I would if I had one from my daddy!

I most often sew in my stocking feet. Even when I am taking sewing classes, off come the shoes.
