Name some of the things you would do to rile up the quilt police?

I honestly think it would be a waste of time. Just think about it, if someone is rude enough to criticize something you put your time and love into...do you really think it will make a difference to them what you say. I know when we make something we put a lot of thought and love into it (not to mention a fair amount of money), I cannot imagine wanting to make someone feel bad about what they have so lovingly made. Save your energy for the people who really matter and make another quilt lol. xoxoxo

Since we are all so creative, I don't believe they could find anything to rile them up. If they did, I would snip their nose off with my scissors .

Heck they would probably get all riled up just looking at mine and because I don't want my quilting licence taken away permanently I keep mine well hidden

I guess what I should have instead asked was "what type of things do the quilt police look for".

Just about anything. They are rude and arrogant and seem to forget they had to start somewhere.

If they tell you 'you MUST do such and such a certain way' ask them why? They more often than not can't tell you. If they CAN give a good sound and intelligent reason then perhaps it's worth listening to them.... but usually, they can't. An example is 'you must always press a seam to the side'.

I would expect the most annoying thing you could do would be to smile sweetly and say "Thank you for making the effort to pay attention to my work, I'm thrilled to be worthy of your attention"

A fully (self)deputized officer of the Quilt Police will complain that they have nothing to complain about if the quilt they are looking at is perfect! Not that anything I make is ever perfect, but on the few occasions I have been given unsolicited "advice", I simply respond that "I will keep that in mind next time". And, the next time I do, laughing and shaking my head!!!

From personal experience, I can tell you I committed two 'sins' against quilt law: I pieced the backing one one quilt and used fleece for the backing of another quilt that I entered in a (judged) show. I stood near each display for a while, and couldn't believe the negative comments ("well...I would never"...etc) I heard from people, some of them my own guild members! Those quilts won first and second place awards, respectively.
