I wouldn't tie it. If you are required to quilt in 1-1.5 inch spacing, it would take you forever to tie it....plus it would detract from the outstanding work you have done so far. Since your quilting has to be so close, I would feather each triangle. Take a piece of paper and draw the size of your triangle. Draw feathers inside the line with different design loops and see what is best for your free motion quilting. Once you have decided on a design, mark the design with either chalk or white pencil (washable) or brushable.....do two or three, by then, you will know how to do the design without marking. I purchased a couple stencils that were 6-sided and will decide which one to use if I ever get that far with my OBW.

OBW's are all about the printed fabric and the quilting - no matter what you do doesn't show much. I'd do a large "S" curve down each row you sewed together. So half of the "S" would be in each triangle. Just start on one end and make continual S's all the way the length of the row. This would bisect your triangles about half way across, giving you the distance you need to meet what your batting requires. Do you have any preview plastic? You could try laying that on your quilt and drawing on that w/ a Sharpie marker to see if that pattern will be what you want.
