Sorry to hear about your tennis elbow. Your doctor is your best bet. I have iced/rested/cortisone shots for years and eventually had surgery on both elbow and bless the doctor's hands everything works great and that was about ten years ago. Good luck on the MRI results. Wishing you a speedy recovery from this bout!

I would also suggest accupuncture. My husband and a cardiothoracic surgeon I worked with both had it. 3 visits and it was gone. Both had struggled for months prior to me telling them to try the accupuncture. Try it!

I also had a problem... not tennis elbow, but my shoulder froze after being in a cast and I couldn't lift my arm. After 3 months of useless therapy, I tried acupuncture. After the first visit I had a 75% improvement. Took 3 visits to get it to normal. You might try acupuncture. It really helps for a lot of things.

Give it a rest..read a book, watch TV, do anything that does not require use of the elbo....but do gentle exercise so it doesnt get stiff. Good luck, also follow the docs orders. Everything takes time.

I have tennis elbow. I play tennis but I got it from smocking. After I take a break for a few months it stops hurting. Im making 5 smocked nightgowns for christmas gifts so Im sure it will be back before the new year.

How times have changed!!!! I worked for a doctor from 1969-72 (wow - 100 yrs ago!!!!) and when people came in with tennis elbow or tennis wrist -- he inserted a needle and extracted the fluids!!!! Wonder if that's the "surgery" they're talking about now!!??!!
