Brand name and model number would be good to help us be alert to this problem. Thank you!!!

I've never seen anything like this before. I would be very concerned...I know the electrics are usually housed in the top panel, which seems to be the bit that flew off. I would maybe get the power point tested, just in case. If it were me, I'd be wanting some answers from the manufacturer and probably would not buy the same brand to replace it. If a child had been nearby, it could have easily had a serious/fatal result.

Let us know what they come up with....could save some dramas for others.

What brand & model was the washer? Is it one of the newer water saver models? When I was researching washers last winter, I read somewhere about a washer putting a whole in a wall.

Wow! I sure wouldn't go back and purchase the same exact machine again!!! In fact, I'd probably buy a completely different brand! Wow again!!!

Weird and scary! Glad no one was hurt. Wonder what made it explode. Do you mind telling us what brand it is? Hope my washer never does this as it is inside the house - just off the kitchen. Nice that the company is refunding your money rather than replacing it. Maybe you can find a great deal on another brand.

Glad no one was hurt! Never heard of anything like this happening before. Must have been a problem when they built it. I'm assuming that this is a new machine, how long did you have it before it exploded?
