I love applique. I mostly do machine satin stitch or blanket stitch. Still not convinced that the blanket stitch will hold up in time with washing though.

We went to Maui for our 35th anniv. this year and my only request was to take a hand applique class. I loved it! I have signed up for another hand applique class at the Road to California show in Jan - Can't wait!

My best tip...don't forget to use stabilizer on the back...it makes a lot of difference on the machine stitching. I have been using coffee filters and it works great!

Treasureit: I will hold up if you treat it kindly. Do not put into the washer and agitate for 12 minutes. Use your gentle cycle for 2-3 minutes. If your project, ie., baby blanket that may be washed often, choose another applique method rather than the buttonhole stitch or be sure to fasten down with one of the fusibles to hold the edges before stitching.

fusible nonwoven interfacing for featherweight to midweight fabrics.

What is it and what do I do with it?

Interfacing is usedwhen you have a pattern that need some stabilizing. Like the collar on a jacket.
