I've never used poly batting, but by mistake got a polyester backing and that did not stick either, though the cotton top did, so it wasn't the spray. Good luck! Let us know about the batting being the culprit!

For me, 505 is the only basting spray I've used that doesn't smell to high heaven. With some of the others I've had to open windows and turn on the ceiling fans to remove fumes. Will stick with 505!

I was turned on to 505 about a year ago at a quilting class... I immediately threw out the stinky sticky stuff I was using prior. I will keep my eyes open for the Mettler Web Bond on my next purchase.

Good Morning Ladies, I too have a serious Lung problem so stay away from the sprays I can't even use Hair Spray so I've found the Hobb's Fusible works good for me & I use the Washable glue on smaller things like table runners & placemats.

I have always used 505 spray. I heard too many horror stories about other ones to even try them. I want something I can count on and 505 spray has never let me down.

505 odor is too overwhelming for me. I love Mettler's brand! It's extremely low odor, and no mess when spraying.

Tried the culprit on cotton bat and cotton fabric and it still didn't work, so I think I'll just stick (ha, ha...) to 505 from now on!

I use 505 also and find the smell to be totally acceptable (barely there). The other one I use on occasion is Sullivan's - it is a bit stronger in the smelly department.

505 is my favorite. Someone gave me 24 cans of 101 basting spray for free. I have been using the 101, some of the cans don't spray very well, but it works. I will use it until it is all gone then switch back to 505 spray. I have never seen 101 in the store. Free is always good. I have found if I let it set for a day to dry before I quilt it, I don't get as much gumming up on my needle.

I took a FMQ class a couple of years ago. We were told to bring basting spray. I've only ever used 505, and buy it online. No one carries it in my town.

Without fail, every single person in that class had gummed up needles, and multiple other problems. It was a disaster and made me realize, 505 is equal to none
