Default School supplies

It's time to stock up on Elmer's washable school glue, graph paper, washable markers etc. I picked up a ring for fastening things in a binder or for a book report. It works nifty to hold my machine bobbins for travel.

Clever idea.
What did you use to keep the thread from unwinding from the bobbins?

Bearisgray, those are the sections I cut off the clear hose I bought at the hardware store. I cut little rings with an exact knife and then cut a slit through the rings. They then just slip over the thread and another advantage is I can write on the rings with a sharpie for specialty threads.

Great idea!

I use those rings for bobbins too. I wrap a small cloth hair elastic around the bobbin to keep thread secure. A ring of pre-wounds also go in the class tackle box.The rings also work on rulers to hang them on rod or hooks.

I just bought plastic file folders with zip loc on each side. They will fit into a notebook. I will store those specialty rulers that aren't used every day.

Love the deals right now. It's always fun to find supplies to use in the sewing room.

I use the "baby" stretchy ponytail holders. Just the right size for bobbins.

Another use for the ring: if you have a refrigerator/freezer that you need to shut down, put the ring through the freezer door and fridge door handles. Then prop the door open. The ring makes both doors into one unit. I block my fridge door open using a trash bucket and because the doors are "tied" together, there is no chance that the freezer door will close by accident. I've been doing this for years and it works well.
