    Kitsie,
    Your quilt is STRIKENLY BEAUTIFUL!

After reading several of the reply posts, I like your vine and Why not hand stitch the vine and machine stitch what you can.

Will wait for the big finnish

Gorgeous quilt! Love the colors. Can't wait to see how you decide to finish it.

[QUOTE=Kitsie;5148487]How to quilt it? I can do straight stitch designs on my domestic machine like melon seeds, SID, cross hatch and any simple curves. I'd like to have most of any pattern (like a simple flower) in the snowball blocks and the "flower blocks" are busy enough and I don't want to take away from the fabrics and design. Really don't like an all-over design, what I call the "gravel road" look

Perhaps a viney look with a couple of leaves? (Oh, it is spring!! The first 2 pairs of swallows just arrived!
If I were brave and could FMQ (have not the least desire to!), I'd do a larger flower in the SBs the same shape as the fabric print but this is a king size and I've done them before, but not when I have to turn it and turn it!.

I cannot afford to have it LAd and the giftee's want me to do it. Nice compliment but....!

Here we go again! So much interest in this beauty. This is a wonderful pattern that "hundreds" of us are doing! The information about it is in this original post by "ksmiley". If you can't find it, pm me!!

I'm not really great at FMQ nor do I LA, so I am in your club. I like less quilting as I like a soft quilt. I was wondering if you could add to the flowers in the snowball blocks by giving the petals and the centers some details like rays coming out of the center and ribbing into the petals. that is close to straight line, and would depict the flowers already there. Are you going to maintain the black and white, or have you entertained colored thread done like I mentioned in the flowers. Yellow centers, blue or pink or red petal accents. Just as idea.
You'll make it beautiful however you do it.

Thanks BarbaraSue and all who have made suggestions for me! All your ideas are great, but the thread will be plain black as the kids want it that way (and I agree). I'm going to go with the vine idea modified a little and I can do it (hopefully) as a continuous line. My DD and I will layer it this weekend (I bribed her big time!) Then I'll probably "ponder" for a day or two before I start! Will keep all of you great friends posted! Thank you all!

Tie it, that is what I do. LOL
