Can this quilt be saved?

That's really a shame. It never should have been returned to you in that condition. I agree that you should send it back and tell her nicely that you can't give it as a gift in this condition. So sorry this happened.

My daughter, a LA quilter and I agree that you should take the quilt back and demand your money money back. You may even be entitled to damages as those holes in the quilt look like they be infixable. My heart goes out to you. Be sure to tell your local quilt shop owner about your experience so that they can beware.

Get your money back, that is really poor work! Those are real toe-nail catching stitches.
Shame on the quilter for sending it home that way. I think I would take it out myself though,
LAQ might do the take-out as carelessly as the quilting was done.
As loose as the stitches look in the photo you may get it out fairly quickly if you clip the
bobbin threads every three or four stitches.

I guess we can't ask who quilted it for you to avoid similar problems in the future? I am so sorry you were disappointed and that the work was so shoddy. I'd be embarrassed if I had quilted it and sent it on as if it were fine.

I am so sorry that this happened to you as well. Charisma on the board does my quilts and she is amazing. I hope you find someone to help you redo it. Your friend will be excited that the quilt is coming even if it does not get finished in time for Christmas, in fact she will probably be MORE excited because she will have another present coming. *hugs*

You should have never be charged in the first place and I believe she should have taken the stitching out and redone it for you...without charge at all... She obviously did not check the tension... as far a big holds that does happen with batiks especially when a bigger needle is required but a steaming and run you fingernail over the stitching takes them away. get your money back!!!

just aweful
I just can't imagine anyone returning a quilt that looks like this! I would talk with them as calmly as possable
and then ask them for your money back! any one who would give you back a quilt in this condition isn't
going to see there faults here, I would take it some where else! I'm really sorry this happened to you, it looks like they even put huge holes in the fabric from the needle, which tells me the needle was to big? I sure hope you
get your money back~ good luck
