Default Need some help....

Hello,
I purchased a quilt top was told the only thing she knew was it was from Nebraska. I wonder if someone could look at the Sun Bonnet Sue blocks and give me an idea of when maybe the fabric was produced??? I am restoring the quilt and would like to be able to pass on as much information as I can because I will be giving it away... I have attached some photos only a few as I have 21 and also the triangles for the border of the quilt. Thanks for any help... Gail

Hi Gail- in my amateur opinion of fabrics they look to me a lot like from the 40's and 50's. My reasoning is that I inherited fabrics that were my Aunt's and they look a lot like yours.
Those blocks are precious!

Can't help on dating the fabric, but I think the pattern is Southern Belle, not Sunbonnet Sue. Whatever you call the blocks they are just lovely!

Oh, they are precious. I see two fabrics that are 1940's, don't know about the others. I hope we get to see it when you have put it all together.

Nice vintage piece. It looks like some of those prints could be feedsack fabric. I agree that it is 40's or 50's.

That time frame sounds good. My thinking was 50s.

I have one that my Mom made (her sister made an identical one at the same time) and it was made before she got married. That was in 1936. I think the Southern Belle name is more correct and I believe the pattern was published in a newspaper or magazine.
