Ok.gals..new to this forum but my HUGE issue is what do you guys do with scraps? I have 2 66 gal plastic bins full of scraps left over from projects. Too big to toss, too small to add to larger bins that I have for yardage. Don't have a sewing room any more...Mom moved in and she's ill so I gave the room to her. My sewing table is in the corner of the dining room. Mabye I should just cut them into strips and have them ready for scrappy quilts. There answered my own question!

Well, this discussion has gotten me moving. After I finished a raffle quilt Sat. I vowed no more projects until sewing room is organized & clean again. And since I have several projects I want to do I started organizing today, it will probably take a couple more days to finish, luckily the cold & snow is keeping me inside anyway.
I already have a stack of older fabric (some I know is 15-20 yrs old but still good)to donate to a couple of charity sewing groups. I'm even washing & ironing it so it will be fresh & while ironing I'll know if any pieces have major flaws.
I hit the big 70 last month & became depressed at all my fabric, I will never live long enough to use it & I want to use the new fabric.

Okay, you all have finally shamed me into starting my organizing. Thanks for all the tips and pics. I've just spent about an hour here checking out all your pics and the sites you've recommended. Now if I'd just spent all that time working on my mess...

My bedroom is small, but so are the other rooms, there is really only a walk way throughout the 500 sq ft apartment. Just a couple more to come.

All my rooms are basically wall to wall items. No doors blocked, but have to move some things to get to the windows!

Hi Julie,

I was surfing the site and found this link to make these cool rugs from your scraps.

I do have plans, now that hubby has sold his slot cars I get the task of taking the table apart (if I don't it will never get done) and putting my sewing/miniature dollhouse room back together. I plan on getting more book shelves and less totes so I will not have to search for what I want. Right now I am split between the computer room and the kitchen.

my spare room where everything is going to be moved too. This is my miniature dollhouse table

this is the slot car table that will be going and making room for my sewing

these crates hold almost all of my quilt material. and to the right you can see the edge of my spare bed

Hi,

I love the plastic totes that slides under the bed. I have some in spare bedroom and our bedroom, that is just space under there that can be used for storage.

I have a couple in the garage waiting to get used in the organization.
I am also glad to see I am not the only one who has let things get out of hand and used my kitchen for storage.
I have alot of fleece, I use it for my new business, fleece dog jackets. So I will need to find an area in the room for all the totes you see in the pictures.
I have been depressed due to the 1 year anniversity of my father's death, I am better and ready to get my mind on something else. I have a couple of quilts I need to finish also.
