Go for it! We do that all the time in machine embroidery when the bobbin thread pulls to the top a little.

Me too. I don't know how long it lasts with frequent washings but I do this quite often.

When I do my stained glass quilts with black Hot Ribbon I always go over the quilting on the black ribbon with my black Sharpie permanent marker! :thumbup:

More than tempted. I've done the marker thing. It was a quickie project; didn't have time to unsew and re-quilt it and discovered that a fabric dye marker would just make the problem go away. Last time I saw the quilt, it had been laundered many times and the thread was still holding the color of the dye. It was quilted with cotton thread and that help. I'm not sure whether polyester thread would retain the color that well.

Good point about the thread content. I know it works on Rayon thread. I don't embroider with poly so I don't know if it holds the ink well or not.
