I have a Maytag cordless iron that I love. Though I only use it for finished quilt tops ... just because the cord doesn't interfere.

Cute quilt inspector. I used it at a LQS during a class. It was a nice iron, but I agree would shut off in a short time, but did heat up very quickly, nice steam

I have a cordless Oreck that I use occasionally. It doesn't replace my corded iron but comes in handy from time to time.

My favorite is the one that is corded or cordless. You have the advantage of cordless but can be corded when you have large places to iron.
