Everything is in the price. If it is cheap enough it will sell. Make your price tags visable at first glance. Don't make them open a cutsey folded tag. Use good props which draw attention. After 30 plus yrs of shows all over the USA, this is very important.

A lot of work too, but still fun! Thanks!
I had lots of success selling aprons and table runners last year. This year my potholders and embellished towels are popular. I'm leary of craft shows. At the last one I had to pay the entrance fee and donate an item from my booth (a $45.00 bag). I didn't sell a single thing, and the only thing that moved off my table were the free candy canes and mints I had out. Very discouraging! However, the exposure is good and you never know when someone from that show will contact you later about a bigger project, like a quilt.

I agree small items would sell faster. I used to do craft shows years ago and I enjoyed doing that. Like yousay it is hard work. I don't think crafts shows are as popular today as they were a few years back. I hope they come back with the way money is today and is going to be for a while. Good luck and post of yours items.

Be careful with that. If you use licensed logos, you could get shut down and all your inventory confiscated. There could also be a huge fine assessed.

so my thinking would be, if you make things out of your states pro-teams, they may sell well.
You can't legally do that.[/quote]

Okay, what if you make your own version of what the logo should be like? I remember one I made for my Dallas/Ft. Worth grandson who was a Cowboy fan. I didn't know anything about football teams so made him a small throw with cowboys and a few footballs tossed around. He loved it, might even still have it for his own son.

Might be cute to have a cowboy leading a horse and running bent over carrying a football. Not wearing a cowboy hat but a helmet (no logo on it).
I might even do that for GGS...

I haven't done a craft show in a while,in fact, the last craft show I did with a friend I didn't sell anything, but I didn't have a lot, having given everything to the church holiday fair. For years I have made items for my church's holiday fair: Table runners, placemats, aprons, pot holders, baby quilts, doll quilts, etc. Except for maybe the last couple of years with the economy so bad, usually everything I make sells out. At the last craft fair a woman just down from me was selling her quilted items so fast, I couldn't believe it. My girlfriend suggested that maybe if I sold placemats with the matching napkins, they might sell better, as some would want the matching napkins and maybe a napkin ring. It might not be much help, but the above has been my experience.

i haven't sold anything with team logos, but i have made the casserole carrier for my brother for Christmas using U of M fabric, lap quilts, baby stuff with pistons and lions fabrics to give as gifts. i am sorry for the suggestion, and would not want anyone to get into trouble

as someone mentioned above, just using the colors of your favorite local team..that would work!
