It is called "The Essential Quilting DVD Collection" by the National Quilters Circle. You can keep the DVD without paying for it since it was unsolicited. Watch it for free and if you like it send the order form with $12.95 and you will receive additional DVDs every 2 or 3 months. I have watched part of it; don't know how long the entire thing is, but seems to be informative for a new quilter. It covers the color wheel, color values, etc. I am just wondering how many of these things were sent out and to whom. And do you like it?

I wouldn't fall for it. There is so much info on this board and the entire internet that you don't need all those things people send unsolicited ( my opinion)

Yes, I did get one and watched it. It was very informational, I really liked it.

Then I received the 2nd one. I also really liked it but it cost 24.95 plus shipping. I did keep it because I liked it and also I kept it longer than the trial period before having a chance to watch it. However, I sent a note stating that the price was way to expensive and I would not be buying anymore.

They were really informational for me, since I'm a beginner, but not worth 24.95 plus shipping.

We had a post recently where magazines were trying this stunt and the content was pretty useless. Don't fall for it. There is a lot of the same information for free here and on the internet.

Yeah, I got one and knew if unsolicited, I don't have to pay. I have not watched in and might just toss it. How dare they? I hope they call me cause I'll tell them the law and that I threw it out. I get 'free' return labels all the time from organizations wanting money. I don't pay any attention to them either. I didn't ask for it I don't want it. Stop sending me this junk.

Oh, I agree. I was just curious where they got my name & address. They aren't getting any money from me. Sometime when I am "bored" I will watch the rest of it and see if I learn anything I didn't know. It amazes me how many people are trying to make a buck any way they can.

Yes I got one too and watched it. I donít need to pay 24.95 for information and ideas that I can get here or online free. I got a letter from them asking for me to send it back or signup for their deal. I sent them a letter back and told them ( BY LAW) that what ever is sent to me without my permission or that I didnít personally order is considered a gift and I had no intentions of returning their gift. Never heard from them.

Yes I got one, paid for it after I watched it as had some really good info on it. have sence recived two more, and I really like them as have no one close to quilt with and like learning new things, and I like to "see" how things are done as well as the written word. For me it is way for other quilter's to visit my quilt studio. For me this is a good thing!!

I got one in the spring, never watched it, threw it in the trash. The second one, I marked "Refused, return to sender". No more DVD's were sent. By the way those so called free gifts for subscribing to a magazine are absolutely worthless crap.

When I saw your post title I remember something so similar from a previous post (or possibly more than one).

I did receive the DVD. If you read the letter with it, it specifically states to send payment ONLY if you want to continue and receive a second DVD in 2-3 months. If you do not wish to join, keep the first one as a gift, no obligation as it was not requested by you. They covered all that in their letter so it is not a "scam", they were honest upfront. I actually enjoyed the first DVD and added it to my other Quilting DVD's collection. I did not send in payment as I really did not wish to join and I never heard another word. As far as I can see, they lived up to what they claimed in their introductory letter, so good luck to them in trying to have a business. It could be an attempt by a housewife or quilt guild to make money. The DVD's may be of help to newbies! I know that first one showed me I had NO interest in ever trying English Paper Piecing! LOL!! But there were some very interesting tips on it I enjoyed watching!

I also received the Fons and Porter DVD. At first I thought it wouldn't play, but then discovered I was not clicking on the correct spot.

I didn't pay for it and haven't received another.

They did say it was a gift but about a month latter I RECEIVED a letter to send it back in that yellow envelop or send payment as requested. I never thought it to be a scam. You just donít send a gift and then request it back.

Hi, I am new on this forum and I received one of these DVDs yesterday. I have been trying to find their website but didn't find it. It seems like a very good dvd and informative.

I just got it in the mail Saturday. I didn't order it. I watched about 10 minutes of it. It does look like a pretty informative one, but I'm not buying it.

Got one. Watched it. It's pretty good for a new quilter. Won't be paying for it or sending it back. Maybe I should feel a little guilty for keeping it but if we all kept and didn't pay companies would stop sending. Maybe I should send them one of my wallhangings with a bill. :)

I have gotten several from different companies and just put them back in the return and mark cancelled. I looked at one and it was only a few minutes long so no more. Scam or not, I don't like them sending me something I have to send back or get billed. GRrrrrrrrrrrrr.

    DIdn't order you...back you go.
