Did anyone get the letter from Fabricdepot.com?

I order from FabricDepot for the first and only time in November. On Black Friday, someone used my card to charge over $800 on Starbucks online. When I spoke to the fraud person at AmEx I mentioned that FabricDepot was the only new store I had shopped at. It looks like I was right since I got the letter last week.

It takes a while for the companies to identify what happened, who it happened to, figure out what they are going to do about it (extra offers, credit protection, etc.) get the lawyers to approve the communication, etc.

I have to say I'm impressed. Of all of the companies and entities that have sent me fraud alerts over the years, I think Fabric Depot was the fastest and most generous. It took the state of California over a year to notify me of a breach, and I was never able to get any kind of response as to exactly what kind of info they had on me (have never lived, worked, nor owned property in CA).
I will happily continue to shop at Fabric Depot.
Clark Howard said law enforcement only catches 1% of identity theft suspects. This makes it very profitable for the bad guys.

For this universe (quilting board) there seems to be alot of cc fraud. I spoke with other non quilters, and they haven't had any issue. something is not right in the fabric online world. Has any one else found a non quilting friend who had their card compromised in the last 4 months? Seems like a cluster fraud issue. I am concerned.

I had two cards compromised a month apart both had to be replaced last year. I have the watch on all my credit due a breach in security several years ago with lost/misappropriated data on a laptop that someone used at home and was lost/stolen with thousands of retirees info on it.
The bennies they are offering are nice and hopefully they have changed their way of doing business. Along withe the thousands of other businesses that were hacked if that's the case.
However 5 months later is a little late to let everyone know.

A couple of weeks ago someone compromised my Visa Card through my Paypal account. I was very impressed to receive a phone call from Paypal questioning the transaction. They gave me instructions on what to do. I distroyed my credit card and applied for a new one. It shows it can happen through paypal too, but I trust them the most.
