Folding laundry... (Why bother? Everyone will be throwing it back into the laundry hamper in a week!) Sandwiching definitely! I do it on a table and seemed to try every trick in the book -- except 505 spray basting, which I haven't tried yet because of the fumes -- and I still end up with wrinkles or pleats in the backing. It's a lost cause for me.

Housework!!Period. I don't mind any of the quilting process as much as I dislike everything about housework. Since DH retired, I have made a point of 'including' him in household chores, hoping that he might take on some of the load....wishful thinking, I know.

Finishing the quilt and putting away "the clutter." I usually stall just after the sandwiching step (which I don't mind), my challenge is the "quilting" step. This year, I am trying to push myself to finish quilts and not add to my UFO pile. And yes, I count pieced tops as UFOs because they are not ready to be given or used. My household members are "not naturally tidy" people, things remain where they were last used or set down. Sigh. We are gradually learning to "put things away" and cleaning a house without having to de-clutter first is much easier and faster.

I’m not a fan of squaring up either, but I do it because it keeps everything precise. For housecleaning, I hate vacuuming the most!

I'm with you, Nancy, when I finish a quilt, the last thing I want to do is clean up the mess! Housework in general is my greater pet peeve tho...it is never done! My DH does lots of woodworking and also has a cow/calf herd to keep him busy in retirement. While I'm grateful he has outside interests, he is oblivious to the stuff he drags into the house every time he comes in! There is endless sawdust/hay/dirt etc getting dispersed from his clothing every step he takes. Yeah, keep repeating...count my blessings...

My least favorite thing about the quilting process is deciding how to quilt something. I like everything else. Every other step helps me feel creative and like I’m accomplishing something. My least favorite household chore is definitely dusting. I really don’t do it unless I absolutely have to.

I'm not sure which I dislike more - trimming the frayed threads off the back of the finished quilt top or trimming individual units. Definitely not a fan of dusting.

Well now, as far as quilting, I quilt for my own pleasure and only take on projects I want to do, and I think I've said it before on here some place, that I don't mind any of it, really. I'm better at some parts than others, that's for sure. I am liking the FMQ not that I am an expert, but, the piecing has become a means to an end.

I don't like to empty the dishwasher, but, luckily, Mr. Stitchripper does it. This house we've been in for a little over 3 years is bigger than our previous house and we did the Marie Kondo thing before we knew what it was, and really did a big purge before we moved and haven't replaced anything, so it is relatively easy to keep clean. I got rid of tchotchkes a long time ago, so dusting isn't hard. We recently cleaned off some book shelves and donated the books so those are easy to dust. I can get under all the furniture except the couch and that is easy to move. I don't have a stash so don't have to worry about that. And we have a basement now, never had one before, and people before us built in shelves up above the floor so can keep some infrequently used items like suitcases on the shelves. It's a walk out basement, unfinished, but I guess because the light can shine in, it doesn't feel damp.

I'm just grateful my health is such that I can keep up with things.
