I spend most of my working hours dealing with unruly people. It gets tiring keeping an even toned voice and a stupid smile pasted on your face. ALONE! I need to be alone and away from people. I have my sewing buddies aka 3 dogs who come running as soon as the sewing machine turns on. They will stay in that room the whole time I am in there. My DGD lives with me and she comes in and has her own projects to work on. She chats but I get to learn a lot from her as she is honest and real...I like that. She is moving out next week but she will only be 2 blocks away so I'm sure she will come to grammy's house frequently.

I also sew alone. No mental interuption that way...unless they are made by me or my two cats. Guess I love my own company! No TV but do listen to my easy jazz CD collection.

I sew alone the majority of the time, but I really enjoy getting together with others to sew once in awhile. My MIL and I used to sew with a very nice lady, but she moved away, so now its just MIL and I. I think it helps me get through the "boring" parts of a project if I do them with someone else, in a time set aside specifically for sewing. Keeps me on task, I don't procrastinate as much.

It is a pain to lug my machine and all around, but I've got it worked out pretty well - I put my projects in a tote, and all my sewing gizmos in a plastic box with a handle I got at Wally World. I don't take the rotary cutting mat and ruler unless we're both going to be cutting a lot, I can just use hers. She has the same ruler anyway.

I sew alone, but I have all you girls here with me, don't know what I would do without you all, I just come here everyday and its like I have a whole house full of friends come to visit. Hope all of you will have a great day.

Mostly alone on a daily basis but I get together with a group of women a couple a year plus I do a getaway retreat with my sewing buddy to a hotel suite once a year.

I try to get together with my sewing buddy about once every six weeks. My sewing room is set up for "double occupancy" as is hers. So we dont lug hardly anything but the project. I have two cutting areas, two ironing areas, two machine setups and doubles of almost all notions. God I sound like a piglet!

On our sewing buddy days we are usually working on a joint project. Like a couple weeks ago we wanted to learn a new technique so she came to my house and we each made a table runner. One time it was a quilt for charity. Once it was a sewing tote. Occasionally we do help each other when we are "stuck" on a project and are not "getting" it.

I know that I HATE lugging everything to a class or when we started doing this I would lug everything to my friend's house. It was more of a PITA than it was worth.

I'm pretty much a loaner in personality so I sew that way as well.

I sew alone...in a house full of people that tolerate my obsession. I wish I had some friends close that liked to sew as much as I do. The things we could come up with! =)
